A.D. 1071 x 1082. Writ of Odo, bishop of Bayeux, to Lanfranc, archbishop (of Canterbury), Haimo, sheriff (of Kent), and the king's thegns of Kent declaring that he has granted to Christ Church, Canterbury four 'dens' of land, Losenham (in Newenden, Kent), Athelardendenn (later Wassall Farm in Rolvenden, Kent), Blacecota (later Bly Court in Staplehurst, Kent), and Oakdenn (later Hexden in Rolvenden, Kent), in exchange for twenty-five acres of land within his park of Wickhambreux (Kent).
