Manuscript: BL Harley 491, 1–2
Description (from Gneuss, Addenda and corrigenda to the Handlist of Anglo-Saxon Manuscripts)
Mass lectionary (epistle and gospel pericopes) : s. xi med., Lotharingia? (prov. Durham)
Two flyleaves preceding an early-twelfth-century copy of William of Jumièges, Gesta Normannorum Ducum, written at Durham. The leaves come from a mass lectionary (containing epistle and gospel pericopes) and were written s. xi med, probably in Lotharingia; they may have reached Durham well before 1100. On fol. 1 is an early-fourteenth-century Durham ex libris. It is possible, however, that the two folios were reject leaves.
