This hand is angular but quite upright. Descenders are longer than minims and are once straight, once turned left. Flat-topped a was used, the sides long and straight and the letter narrow. Both c and e are also very angular but are not horned; the backs are straight and very steep, the hook of e is round and low, and the tongue straight and rising. The back of d is short, straight, and angled at about 60°.The shoulders of r are also angular, and the down-stroke of the second r turns back to the left. Long s was used, the hook small and the down-stroke extending just below the base-line. A fairly laterally compressed s+t ligature was used for the Latin word testu.
