Stokes, English Vernacular Script, ca 990–ca 1035, Vol. 2 (PhD Thesis, University of Cambridge, 2006)

This scribe wrote with short ascenders, one with a heavy wedge and one without decoration. The back of a is slightly concave and once extends above the top of the bowl. Round e was used, the tongue of which is horizontal at cue-height and the hook extends slightly above cue-height and is small and narrow. The top of g is flat, the mid-section hangs from the centre and is very angular, and the tail is round and three-quarters closed, the resulting letter being 3-shaped. A very thin and short approach-stroke is just visible on n, and the letter lacks feet.
