Stokes, English Vernacular Script, ca 990–ca 1035, Vol. 2 (PhD Thesis, University of Cambridge, 2006)
This previously unnoticed gloss was written with a thin pen and dark ink. Ascenders are very long and have small wedges at the tip. Descenders are shorter but still longer than minims and are straight. The body of æ is rounded and fairly wide, the top and back of the a-component formed in a single stroke, the hook rounded and low, and the tongue straight, long, and somewhat rising. The backs of c and e are both formed with long diagonal strokes which extend somewhat past the hook, giving both letters a horn of sorts and also producing laid-back forms. The tongue and hook of f are both short. Round, dotted y is found, the tail of which extends well below cue-height.
